WPPI 2016 (in a Nutshell)

You know what's NUTS? Trying to sum up three days of epic awesomeness, from the trade show floor to after-hours Vegas fun, in one blog post. But, sometimes Richard is a little nuts, so here it is: WPPI 2016 in a nutshell (plus your promo code for 25% off)! We had a blast catching up with old friends, making new ones, getting up close and personal with superstars in the biz, and dancing our pants off (okay, not literally)...

There are three steps to starting out every WPPI. Step 1, eat breakfast (it's the most important meal of the day, ya know). Step 2, get caffeinated (maybe do that step more than once). Step 3, get an incredible lineup of photographers to amp everyone up! We jumped right into interviews with Em the Gem, Jen Huang, and Greg Finck to chit chat about the progression of their careers, their fave equipment, workshops, and more.

Holy moly did Monday fly by! Richard rounded out the day digging deep into photog industry secrets from Caroline Tran and Jose Villa #crowdcontrolneeded

It's early to bed, early to rise in Vegas! Okay, maybe just early to rise... because we were back at it again, kickstarting Tuesday with Eric Kelley (and his wonderfully insightful wife/partner in crime/make-up artist extraordinaire, Lora Kelley) and Corbin Gurkin.

There was no shortness of notoriety during Tuesday's talks, with KT Merry taking center stage, followed by the always outspoken Sylvie Gil. And we closed out day two with our second interview of the show with Jose Villa, this time joined by his longtime pal and industry cohort Mar of TEAM Hair and Makeup.

After the show it's the after-party... #remix

Richard threw a little WPPI Brouhaha at the only speakeasy in Vegas, 1923 Bourbon Bar. Everyone put on their glad rags and grabbed some giggle juice--it was the cat's pajamas!

We had some rad sponsors to help make this year's party a smash! A very special thanks to:

Alright guys, the juice joint is closing...

The last day at WPPI 2016 was jam-packed with goodness, starting off with the inside scoop on Rangefinder Magazine's 30 Rising Stars process from Jacqueline Tobin, Editor-In-Chief of the magazine. Then, Catherine Guidry shared her unique point of view as a photographer and recent newly-wed!

Lacie Hansen and Kayla Barker made sure Richard ended the show on a high note! So, three days, fourteen interviews, and $423.17 worth of Starbucks later, we packed our bags and headed back to Awesometown.
