Introducing Online Film Ordering at Richard
“Geez, Richard. It’s 2015, get it together.” You’ve probably thought that once or twice while filling out yet another film order form. Because, even though you’re choosing analog for your art, that doesn’t mean getting it processed and scanned should be an archaic routine.
So, we’ve launched Richard's Online Film Ordering! All you need is the film.
- Richard will know that your film is en route to the lab ahead of time, which gives us all some #peaceofmind, and may help shorten your turnaround time
- See your approximate order pricing in an instant
- Print your UPS or FedEx shipping label at home (more carrier options to come)
- Your account info is saved, so you won't have to rewrite your shipping/billing info for every order
- Never have issues with your order due to “penmanship deciphering mishaps” (it’s okay, you don’t have to have nice handwriting, you’re a photographer!)
- ...more features will continue to be unveiled!
Here's a step-by-step tutorial of how to use Richard's Online Film Ordering (like you really need one, smartypants).
To get the show on the road, get online—Chrome and Firefox browsers provide the best user experience. First, create your account. All you need is an email address to get started. If you're already a customer with Richard, make sure to use the same email address you've used in the past! #easypeasy
Then, select what services you need. Don’t forget, your proof prints are discounted when you order them at the time of processing and/or scanning!
Fill out the details of your order, starting with the film type and size. If you have multiple film types or sizes, you’ll repeat this part of the process for each of them. Easily grab details about the options as you order!
Once you complete the details of an item, you can add it to your cart. Hit the "Keep Shopping" button if you need to add more film types/sizes; otherwise, fill out the rest of your order options and checkout! Be sure to scope out all your items before you head to the checkout screen.
Confirm the shipping address, billing address, and shipping method of your order. If it’s your first order, you’ll be asked to fill out these details; they will then be stored in your account info.
The last step is printing out your packing slip (you can do this from the site or your order confirmation email). If you selected UPS shipping to the lab*, your shipping label will also be included with your packing slip online and in your confirmation email. Box up your film and send it along with your packing slip—you won’t be charged until we receive your order.
*UPS shipping labels are available for US clients only—but don't fret, international photogs! You can still use your own carrier to ship to the lab.
Then just sit back, relax, and wait for that sweet, sweet film goodness to return to you. We'll send you an email to let you know we received your film. Start your first order now!
